Title: Eclipses Season: Awakening the astonishment of citizenship
Abstract: On July 2, the entire country witnessed a solar eclipse. We not only witnessed an extraordinary natural phenomenon but also one that summoned masses of people. Behind this massive popular involvement, not only Nature played a key the role, but also a whole scientific discipline. This allowed the common citizen not only to enjoy the astronomical event, but to understand the phenomenon and value the very discipline of astronomy. In this talk I will show how this involvement was achieved and the great opportunity that the solar eclipse of 2020 affords to bring citizenship closer to astronomy and other scientific disciplines.
