Prof. Alejandro Jofré is a Mathematical Engineer from the Universidad de Chile and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Pau, France. He is full Professor at the Universidad de Chile.
He has held the positions of director and deputy director of the Center for Mathematical Modeling, among others.
His areas of research are optimization, stochastic optimization, game theory, economic equilibrium and electricity markets. He has led research projects and developed optimization tools for price analysis, planning and market behavior for energy systems, telecommunications markets and sustainable exploitation of natural resources such as copper, energy and forestry.
