Collaborative Applications Research Laboratory (CARL)

Descripción

La investigación en este laboratorio busca facilitar, mediante el uso de tecnología, el trabajo de colaborativo entre personas. Esta área, más conocida por sus siglas en inglés (CSCW - Computer-Supported Cooperative Work), puede considerarse como una rama específica de desarrollo de software, que incluye una o más de las siguientes características: desafíos de diseño asociados a objetivos organizacionales, dinámicas de grupo, comunicación, coordinación y colaboración entre personas, resolución de conflictos y toma de decisiones, contexto social de las actividades, y efectos positivos y negativos de la tecnología en tareas, grupos y organizaciones. Las actividades de investigación en este laboratorio van desde la realización de estudios de campo para concebir diversos tipos de sistemas colaborativos, hasta el diseño e implementación de prototipos de dichos sistemas.
