Accreditation
Since 2014, the Engineering and Geology programs of the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (FCFM, for its acronym in Spanish) departments have all been accredited by the National Commission of Undergraduate Accreditation, "Comisión Nacional de Acreditación de Pregrado (CNAP)"; seven of them for the maximum period.

About the three bachelor programs accreditated by the "Comisión Nacional de Acreditación - CAN" (National Commission of Accreditation) in 2016, two of them got the maximum period:

Bachelor accredited for 6 years
- Physics
In addition to this voluntary program certification process, there is also the institutional certification for 6 years (the maximum) from the Universidad de Chile in 2011 in all its areas: Institutional management, undergraduate teaching, research, extension, infrastructure and equipment and media relations.
Both institutions underscore the high quality of its academic faculty and students, the continual improvement of undergraduate studies, an excellent infrastructure, solid scientific and technical training of its students, strong relationships with the outside media and the high level of research, among other factors.
