Master in Applied Economics has an academic orientation and its aim is to train professionals and academic leaders with a great analytical capacity and solid knowledge in economy.
This master program prepares students to work for financial or services companies, international organizations or regulatory institutions, among others. It also prepares students to continue PhD studies and to develop an academic career.
Our graduates are highly required for the labor market. Currently, they are working for top national and international companies. They also work for public services and international organizations. Master in Applied Economics is enhanced due to its high number of graduates who do a PhD program in prestigious international universities, such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Yale, among others.
This Master in Applied Economics is imparted by the Applied Economics Center (CEA) from Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics of University of Chile. CEA is formed by international well-known academic leaders, and it is the leader in Chile to do research in economy and in proposal development for public policies.

Students wishing to apply for Master programs offered by the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, University of Chile must have a bachelor or a professional degree in a similar area, granted by a national or international university certifying a solid background in the specific area of the Master program. The Academic Committee of the program will review each application taking into account all the required background.
Applicants have to submit all their educational records at the moment of applying. Some of them are:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Application Form
- Transcript of records of the previous courses and their programs in case they come from other national or international universities.
- Bachelor's or professional diploma
- A letter of intention, and at least two letters of recommendation.
