Ricardo Herrera Mardones
Director of the School of Engineering and Sciences
Prof. Ricardo Herrera is a civil engineer from the University of Chile and Ph.D. from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA. He is also associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, in the area of Structures, Construction and Geotechnics.
His main areas of study are seismic design in steel and the experimental study of structures.
He has held administrative positions such as head of the Structures-Geotechnics Division, freely elected advisor to the Faculty and Department Council, and the director of the Civil Engineering Department of the FCFM.
He is currently a CITRID researcher, the Risk and Disaster Reduction program of the University of Chile.
